Statistics: Russia’s inflation at zero in May 7–May 12
MOSCOW, May 14 (PRIME) -- Russia’s consumer price inflation slowed down to zero from May 7 through May 12 and reached 2.2% since January 1, the Federal State Statistics Service said on Thursday.
The buckwheat price rose by 1.3% in the period, the prices of rice rose by 1%, of tea by 0.4%, of sunflower oil, flour, macaroni, and chocolate sweets by 0.3%, and of canned meat, rye bread, and salt by 0.2%.
At the same time, the prices of sugar contracted by 0.2%, of chicken meat by 1%, of chicken eggs by 0.9%, and pork, sausages, and cookies by 0.1%.
Fruit and vegetable prices grew by 0.8% on average. The potato prices increased by 2.3%, apple prices by 1.9%, cabbage prices by 1.8%, onion prices by 1.5%, and carrot prices by 1.2% Cucumber prices fell 3.3%, and tomato prices decreased 2.2%.
Automobile gasoline and diesel fuel prices remained flat.
